NEW 5 UNIT KEY CONTROL
For Dealer Plates, Radios, or Other Asset Control
As used by FedEx Express!

The additional 5 colors are so that other
departments such as mechanics or make ready can have their own colors.
The sales manager then can know where a car is just with a glance.

Daily Operation:
When a salesman wishes to obtain a set of car keys he
must insert his
Yellow peg in to the corresponding hole next to
the car keys he wishes to remove from the key control unit. A 90 degree
turn of his
Yellow peg locks his peg to the key control unit
and simultaneously unlocks the adjoining
Red peg allowing him to remove the car keys in
that number holder. A quick glance at the key control unit shows which
salesman has what car keys. Upon the return of the car keys to the key
control unit a 90 degree turn of the
Yellow
salesman’s peg in the opposite direction secures the car keys and
releases the salesman’s peg.
Should you wish to rearrange the vehicles on the lot
there are
Gray sales manager’s pegs for every holder in
the key control unit which can be inserted in all the holders allowing
you to remove all of the car keys. These
Gray
pegs should be locked up for security when not in use.
Set Up:
When you receive your units all the
Red pegs are installed
in the cabinet. Decide what number position on the board the first set
of keys will be placed. Write that number on your standard stock
inventory tag. Fill out the rest of the tag and close the inventory tag.
Place the matching set of car keys and this stock inventory tag on a
Red tamper proof seal.
DO NOT CLOSE THE SEAL! Then place the open end of the
tamper proof seal over the Red
peg located by the corresponding number on the key control unit. Now
firmly close the tamper proof seal so that all the narrow part of the
wire is pushed in to the Red
plastic. This seal can now only be opened by cutting the wire. Repeat
this procedure for the rest of the positions in the key control unit.
Determine how many sets of keys you would like each
salesman to be able to remove from the key control unit at one time.
Take a
Yellow salesman’s name tag, remove the ring, and slide
out the card insert for each set you will give that salesman. Write the
salesman’s name on the card and reinsert it behind the clear
plastic covering. Place the tag on a
Yellow
tamper proof seal along with a
Yellow
peg and close the seal so that all the narrow part of the wire is pushed
in to the
Yellow plastic. This seal can now only be opened
by cutting the wire. Repeat this procedure for the rest of the salesman
that will have access to the key control unit.
